Saturday 22nd February
A nice return yesterday with winners of both of the remaining tip races, after the Abandonment at Punchestown. Barricane drifted in the market from the advised 7/1 to an SP of 10/1 and was given a very calm ride arriving late and decisively. At Exeter, a number of non runners meant that Diamatiste shortened from the advised 8/1 into 9/2 but a winner is a winner and we'll never complain about winners.
The focus today may be on Kempton but frankly the 3.35 main race leaves us all feeling a little bit cold from a punting perspective, whilst the other main UK race, the historic Eider Chase at Newcastle over an extended 4 miles 1 and 1/2 furlongs is an absolutely red-hot fantastic betting heat and one we are very keen to crack. We'll also look at a race at Chepstow and a pair at Fairyhouse and one of the early races on the Kempton Card.
We're trialing (or rather I am) some shorter snappier analysis on days like today when we want to focus on 4-5 races rather than 1 or 2 and at some point after Cheltenham, we'll be asking for your feedback on preferences.
