ANALYSIS RACES-:

2.40 - Ultima Chase - 3 miles 1 furlong - Class 1 - 24 run - Good to Soft (Old Course)

This is the toughest race of the week to fathom and  probably one of the best renewals of the past decade. A race usually favouring the Home UK horses but always beware an Irish Raider. I'll list the dangers to our chosen top 4 here and there are many.

It was tough to leave out Whistle Stop Tour who was overall 5th rated so a reserve if one of the 4 listed is a non-runner and 6th rated was Broadway Boy whose Course form is very impressive but whose preparation has just been interrupted by a niggling injury.

The Changing Man is a very solid contender and a big danger, the same applies to Katate Dori but that one may be best right handed, Henry's Friend and King Turgeon are from yards you simply cannot dismiss in this race and both hold strong claims as do, Victtorino and Trelawne and Famous Bridge, 4th in this last year.

After a lot of soul searching the Home team (The Advisor) has gone for MYRETOWN who has dropped in to this off a lovely weight and who could be ahead of the handicapper if handling the occasion and CREBILLY whose preparation has been as eye catching as his form with Jonjo keeping his charge both on the boil but also out of the more obvious tough races he may have considered.

The Irish have a few likely contenders but (Sean) is really keen on SEQUESTERED who could be very well handicapped as it's a rare Irish runner here running pretty much on its Irish mark and this one is really battle hardened and will love the big field type race. MALINA GIRL is another whose preparation looks time to the minute, hidden away quietly and she has some very impressive Cheltenham form to boost confidence (The Advisor / Placespotter)

Cheltenham 4.40 - Juvenile Handicap Hurdle 2 miles and 1/2 furlong - 22 run

This does have the look of an Irish trained / Owned benefit and aside from Hot Fuss and Liam Swagger looks very likely to be an Irish clean sweep.

We'll therefore give centre stage to michael, he notes the dark horses hare as being Murcia and Sony Bill for Mullins and Slurricane; Teriferma and Quantock Hills whose form is closely tied in together.

STENCIL is a worthy favourite and should be backed to win , Puyurhandstogether looks the each way nap of the race for Joseph O'Brien and was a real eye catcher last time out . BEYOND YOUR DREAMS has perhaps the best engine of all of them but fast accurate jumping will be essential in this full on the gas all the way type race. WENDROCK surprisingly the only Elliott runner in the field and whose overall form is not rock solid is 4th rated just ahead of Total Look who would have been higher up the ratings but for some health issues that have just delayed the preparation for this race (Michael)

Cheltenham 5.20 - Princess Royal Novice Handicap Race - 3 miles 6 furlongs - 22 run

Another tough one to fathom and a couple who just missed the top 4 but whose overall form in races against far more experienced horses suggests a small £1 e/w at big odds may be a nice sporting bet to close the day. The pair in question are the Gordon Elliott trained STUZZIKINI and WILL DO.

Of the remainder outside of the top 4 , strong mentions for Kyntara, Resplendent Glory, and Captain Cody.

Robin is very keen on HAITI COLEURS as an each way banker at about 9/2 for the home team a very impressive season and one with Cheltenham form to boot. GERICAULT ROQUE is on the comeback trail after injury but the comeback run suggests the old ability is there and  this was was mighty impressive both here and at Newbury prior to a 2 year break. Finally for the home side TRANSMISSION looks a stayer who could easily improve for the trip.

They are all trumped in Sean's mind (if you'll excuse the swear word) by Irish raider NOW IS THE HOUR for Gavin Cromwell who has one eye catching piece of form that suggests he has more than the measure of Haiti Coleurs.

We are very much playing at the top end of the market here as you will see, so the small £1e/w side bets on STUZZIKINI and WILL DO are serious options.

NON HANDICAP - each way shots.

We've highlighted WORKAHEAD in the 1.20 race and PUTURHANDSTOGETHER in the 4.40 race as being our best 2 non handicap small each way punts on the day. (Sean)
