Southwell - Monday 6th March

THE ADVISOR - Southwell-:

4.10 Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 4 and 1/2 furlongs - 16 run - Good (few showers)

It's hard to ignore CHARGING POINT whose 3rd on Handicap debut here was full of promise and with enhanced place odds on offer I'd suggest a win or even each way saver bet for sure.

Door breaker was all out to win last time out and doesn't strike me as one who can follow up off a penalty. Claras Soldier has to be feared based on connections and Infiniti was a winning machine on the Flat and in a hurdle race last season but may just need this run. I think we'll TRACK that one for Doncaster on the Flat later in the month! Classic Tune is 13 now but is sprightly enough and has a place chance on a few bits on not too distant form. There are a couple in the Tracker System and whilst Coconut Tudor is best watched after a wind operation and who hasn't yet produced any of the Irish Form we based the Tracking on, there may be worse 66/1 to 100/1 pokes today than PASSING SECRETS whose form over Fences has fallen apart but whose previous Hurdling form would have it around 10/1 if this race had been 18 months or so ago!

I think that the main rivals though to CHARGING POINT will be ROCKET ROBBO who showed some real promise in midfield at  Doncaster last time and I'll be disappointed if its not in place contention here and MARAJMAN who needs Good ground (so heavy rain would be a concern) but who has Course and Distance winning form off a mark of 107 and runs off 99 here.

1.15 Handicap Chase - Class 4 - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - 10 run - Good (showers)

Forward Plan is in great form for the in-form Honeyball yard but the mark is rising as a result. Ladronne has solid credentials and form but just looks a bit high in the weights now, Arriverderci is a horse who hasn't yet translated good Hurdles form into Chasing and Lord Sparky is another who could deliver a better run. In the Tracker we have Keep Rolling but we'll track that onwards as a recent wind operation will need to improve recent form.

The pair I most like are MY SILVER LINING who was most impressive for Emma Lavelle last time and who looks a decent bet at around 5/1 even with a penalty. I think the horse with equal scope is the Skelton's PRESENTING JEREMY whose return to Good to Soft ground should see an upturn in form and promise and i'll be very disappointed if he isn't in the first 3 home here.
