Warwick 3.42
Warwick 3.42 Handicap Chase - 3 miles 5 furlongs - 13 run - Good to Soft
A competitive looking race on paper that is may be not as deep as it looks on closer examination.
At the head of the market Volcano has a couple of Course wins but is up markedly in trip and a rapidly rising mark, it may be one of those on a stellar leap forwards but enough to prove at the price to take on. A Time To Shine is a possibly good horse but basically a Novice Chaser thrown in again enough doubts in my mind to take on. Hats off to either if they won this stamina test.
Tea Time From Mars was very unlucky last time at Exeter but with this race coming quite quickly I do wonder how much that has taken out of the horse and also if it's developing in to a bit of an Exeter specialist. Time will tell but again at the Odds I'm not sure it's great value.
Rose Of Aghaboe is up 5lbs and 5 furlongs in trip after recent Course win and vulnerable on that basis, Snuff Box has recent form lines very much franked by the lies of Cyclop and Fortescue bt another up markedly in trip who will be running in to unknown territory off the home turn.
Western Climate won this last year, off 109, a Course winner in December over 3 miles off 116 and only a rising mark puts me off today. It's a big danger and if you want a stake on anything other than the selection, this is the one.
One of Us has glimmers of past form but it would be good to see a bit more before investing and that leaves me with GOODNIGHT CHARLIE at big odds. Won this race in 2019 off a mark of 108, was 5th last year off a mark of 116, clearly enjoys the Course and gets the trip, has looked out of form but this is a quirky track with 5 fences down the back getting many a good horse out of a natural rhythm and off a mark of 99 and with proven form in the race, too well in possibly to ignore.
TRACKER - Goodnight Charlie (reserve is Western Climate if you want a shrapnel bet)
