A competitive race although a number look to have a lot to prove in terms of actual form at the bottom end of the betting market.

 

If there is a springer at bigger odds the most likely looks to be Winter Spice who ran well enough in a few good ground summer hurdles in 2018 before losing form and having  a 599 day lay off to suggest it could be one to note and track long term for summer jumping if showing any glimmers on its next couple of runs.

 

At the top of the market, Sayouthinksoagain looks very solid, the one to beat and if 3/1 floats your boat as a win saver, would not put you off. Golden Emblem won at 2 and a half miles off a mark of 96, placed off an increased mark of 107, up a few more pounds and may be vulnerable off that kind of mark so not real value at the price but crtainly a contender.

 

Conceal, Guguss Collonges; Grand Lord and Akarita Heights all have potential to improve for the trip and better Going and are genuine dangers but just failed to make the final cut in terms of investment in the race.

 

Freddie Darling for Harry Fry is a real potential danger as pedigree suggests the trip will suit and has seemed to be a nice moving horse with plenty of scope. Is just overlooked but is reserve in case of a non runner and would not put you off a small each way dabble of using in a Tricast Perm.

 

I'll side with the more proven form of a pair who are well enough handicapped and tick Going, Trip and Course boxes at nice each way prices.

 

PROJECT MARS from the Fergal O'Brien yard won at Huntingdon off a mark of 102 at close to this trip, runs off 106 here, solid form and ticks all the right boxes and will be disappointing if it doesn't run an enhanced place at the very least. DASH OF BLUE was 3rd over Course and Distance off a mark of 102, beaten by 2 nice types from Nicholls and Mulholland and form looks solid. Then went and franked it at Southwell with a win but gets in here off a mark of 106 with a very handy 3lbs claimed.

In the 1.00 a t Wincanton a Handicap Chase over 2 miles 4 furlongs, I'll give another chance to DON'T BE ROBIN , turns around quickly after getting the fractions horribly wrong over a longer trip at Chepstow last Thursday, steps back the best part of 3/4 of a mile but has form at this trip running a Course and Distance place off 81 a year ago and rolls up off a nice mark of 78. Certainly ran well enough last time to this trip and beyond it to suggest in good enough form to win if they can get the fractions right.
