MICHAEL - Cork 5.08 Handicap Hurdle - 3 miles 1/2 furlong - 15 run - Soft > Heavy

 

This race doesn't look that deep in terms of form with a fair number unproven at the trip or simply with no worthwhile looking form so far or recently.

 

At the head of the market is Scarbrook who won out of the blue off a 353 day break last time at Thurles, 11/4 looks skinny based on overall form but if you want a win saver on the obviously better last run, then feel free.

 

Majestic Design and Danny The Fence are clearly horses with chances here but neither really jump off the page at me asking to be backed with any real confidence overall. One For Daisy has some P2P form that offer some hope and conversely Thedancingfarmer has some form at shorter that offers definite hope IF staying. Balkito has some good form a few years ago but has gone really sour lately and a change of yard may change that but best watched although a £1 e/w may scratch an itch in my head that it could just transform at some point.

 

The pair that carry most and sufficient confidence to invest in though are LIKEABLE CHANCER who has very solid form up to 2 miles 7 furlongs and who has a good place chance on that form at a Track that isn't particularly stamina stretching and NOT MAY whose penultimate Punchestown runner up effort looks very decent and who should have sufficient stamina to step up the extra furlong here.
