Newbury 2.05, a 3 mile Handicap Chase, Class 3 over 3 miles and 2 furlongs, the Going is Good to Soft, Good in places, and watered too ensure the Good parts don't get too firm. The ground is drying all the time, as as close to a Good ground race as I think we'll see in March time.

 

Plenty have chances as you'd expect and hard to write much off but one jumped off the page at me at nice Odds so I will go with SALMANAZAR. Trainer Alan King had a quiet Cheltenham. He is in one of those transitional years, having seen his stable stars all age and retire in the same cycle, now re-building and his recent form has been exceptional. He knows when and where to aim horses and this one looks tailor made for the trip, is very consistent, will like the Going and is on a very nice mark; with a safe round, he should not be far away.
