MICHAEL - Thurles 4.50 - Handicap - 2 miles - 14 run - Soft

 

At the top end of the market, Nostra Casa has to fully prove it can handle a 10lbs penalty for a Spring win in heavy conditions and a truly run 2 mile trip and at around 5/2 doesn't represent value in my opinion. Barometer is solid and consistent but wholly exposed and 5/1 does little to entice me in either. Charlie luciano is most likely having a bit of a blow before Hurdles campaign, Make Good has only its' second run in three years and its first in 10 months so most likely will need the run. Annecherie was visually impressive when winning last time on Good ground but is another who has to prove it can handle sticky soft Going. It;s feared though and would be reserve if either selection is a non runner, something we've had too many of lately.

 

Zileo is IN the TRACKER and one we like a lot but 2 miles in this ground would not be ideal, and finally before the selections, SEAN (Placespotter) is quietly confident on some decent informations sources that HARVEST BOW who has been poor of late and below it's last win mark of 67 is training well. Its around 50-66/1 so a £1 e/w poke is suggested!

 

My top 2 rated though are WEATHER ALERT who has made steady progress and a return to form and fitness after a break of two and a half years, the fact they have persevered deserves a win and the horse is showing clear signs that enough ability remains to pick up a prize like this. The other one at a nice price i like is MASTER DUNRAVEN   a 3 year old with some scope for Johnny Murtagh who has suggested at 12 and 14 furlongs that this might be optimum trip for the future and some nice form in Soft too. One to keep a close eye on today and in the future.
