Curragh 4.16

SEAN - The Curragh 4.16 Irish Lincoln - 1 mile - 27 run - Yielding.

There are a mass of runners in here from the expanding Adrian McGuinness operation who no doubt sees himself adopting the Gordon Elliott "fire all the bullets you can" model at some of the Flat heritage type Handicaps.

The Draw here on what should be Yielding to Good can suit extremes in terms of the Draw, so I am covering my options a little with one drawn high, a couple in the centre and one drawn high as thre is nothing more frustrating than having the first few home in a group on one side who are beaten by about 10 on the opposite rail having had no reality any chance of winning, yet having run good races with the cards they were given. That can happen a lot in Irish Flat racing but it's who we have the Trackers ready to fill up with horses who may finish midfield but who possibly have finished first on their side of the draw in an unequal contest.

I'll run thorough a few who I expect to run well and to follow after today who just missed my final cut.

Bowerman has been well backed for Mc Guiness and is fit from the AW, Ryan Moores booking will generate market support but I;m not 100% sure its a horse who enjoys turf as much as a synthetic surface and I can leave him at the price. Star Harbour is the type to improve at 4 and is one i've added this morning to the Tracker, Carrytheone for Johnny Murtagh is another who could be progressive, runs well here and another i'll be tracking through the season , Murtaghs other runner the ex Roger Varian Raadobarg is likely to go off favourite and although I far it I think the price is too short and it may need the run. Comfort Line at a big price may improve for cheek-pieces and one to follow too, whilst In From The Cold, who is fit from hurdling may make fitness pay and out run its odds but I don't quite think its good enough. Ransom an ex Michael Stoute horse is the final one I will follow through the campaign and have added to the Tracker for that purpose.

My final choices are, STAR OF CASHEL who is drawn in Stall 30 (27 runners but reserves get allocated a stall); it was 4th in this last year off 89, drawn then in Stall 1 and gets in off a nice mark of 84 and is a recent recruit for the McGuinness yard. SALTONSTALL is drawn in the centre in No 13 and although not winning last season has come down to a nice mark and it's a genuine horse who will always be in there pitching. CURRENT OPTION has been campaigned more at 7 furlongs but has placed here at a mile and I'm more intrigued by a pipe-opener on the AW than I am the top weight and I'll be disappointed if its not running a place with luck in running from stall 15.

The other ones of McGuiness yard I like at bigger Odds are CASANOVA who has a bit of added stamina and at silly odds to cover the low draws is Sirjack Thomas who has wins off marks of 83 and 90, gets in below 90 with a 7lbs Claimer who is a decent lad and who will enjoy the ground and has a good record fresh.

TIP - Star Of Cashel / Trackers - Saltonstall + Current Option / Shrapnel - Casanova + Sirjack Thomas
