A competitive big field handicap with plenty of enhanced place offers to tempt us in.

 

Always Resolute, who is entered in this and in a race tomorrow looks to be on a cracking Hurdles handicap mark but been quite a while since it showed that level of form it did have, so for today (and tomorrow) we'll pass it by. Heart Of A LIon from the Alan King yard makes handicap debut, could be anything and is favourite, is the price value, frankly no idea until around 5.15, so IF you want a win saver, I would not put you off as th Yard target this Course with nice prospects like this one.

 

Kloud Gate for Gary Moore has shown nothing after a 678 break, the price is a bit baffling but you'll all know my views on the Yard when they fancy a punt, or similarly deliberately pull one. Daranova looks a very strange booking for Brian Hughes, it may or may not be a pointer, it's another of those Yards that can lump on a win or a lay bet to suit, one to note and would be no surprise to see it romp home or get pulled up early, it's that type.

 

I was left with 3 of major each way betting value in my notes and will narrowly leave out Spanish Jump who is another who could be anything on handicap value, I prefer HEART OF A LION for a win saver on something unexposed but Jonjo's horse should be one to follow onwards.

 

The each way value I think to enhanced places lies with METHAG a Course and Distance winner off a mark of 103, a runner up at Hexham off 107, the key to both those runs was good ground, proper early Spring Good / Good to Soft and off a mark of 108 with a good 5 lbs Claimer has absolutely no excuses or hiding place based on the form book and proven form

 

PASSING SHADOW is another with solid claims, the only niggle is 85 days off, clearly they've avoided winter heavy, the horse should be fully tuned up, I see Lily Pinchin as an asset on any well handicapped horse she rides and having placed in similar level races off 98 and `100 her claim of 5 pounds off a mark of 101 looks spot on, just the one niggle everything else points to a big run.
