Fred Winter 4.50
The Fred Winter, as it will always be known despite changing sponsors many times over the years is a 2 mile burn up Handicap Hurdle.
22 runners and full of handicap bandits and i'm sure that a number in here are very much hiding true form under a bushel and ready to expose themselves today.
I narrowed my choices down to around a half dozen and not quite making the final cut are Thyme White who could be a very progressive horse from Ditcheat and very much one to follow what ever happens today. I also like the look of Palladium and the only thing that has put me off him is that the collateral form with Edwardstone and Fiddlerontheroof was not overly franked yesterday. I will take it on the chin if he bolts up as otherwise would have been a strong tip.
Tronador from the Elliott yard could be the one to beat and if you have one each way banker today at sensible odds this is probably the one but I have a couple at more interesting prices.
ARAMIX from the Elliott yard has plenty of scope, conditions are ideal for this one and I take to be the best from the Yard on the day. Nicholls has such a group of young hurdlers at his disposal that he can afford to drop MICK PASTOR in here instead of a possible tilt at a better race The Triumph Hurdle. The Yard will see this horse as probably one of their best handicap chances of the week and be very disappointing if it's not placed at the very least. Finally REPETITO at a bigger price has some very interesting Course form, this looks like a clear target for the yard and could outrun what look like very generous each way Odds to enhanced places.
