SEAN / Placespotter - Navan 5.05 Apprentice Handicap Hurdle - 1 mile 2 furlongs - 18 run - Soft / Heavy

 

There isn't too much to interest or excite at bigger odds here but the obvious exception is SANDYMAN. It's had a hurdle run and if you delve way back has had some decent Flat form at the trip on soft for both Paul Cole and Mick Appleby. It's below that sort of Flat mark and although not yet a factor in Irish Racing looks one of the few at bigger odds with any sort of realistic chance. I'll aim it at an enhanced place. (sadly since writing this up at 7.00 am and sending out at 7.50am price is shortening)

 

Once fit and tuned up you could have given a chance too to Not Just Any Eagle and Pale Moonlight and I will add both of those to my TRACKER and watch with interest today.

 

I really think the market is right here and the prizes should be between 4 horses. DERRY LAD id race fit, has ideal Flat conditions and no excuses and is preferred to Brave Troop who has course and distance winning form and who has also had a Hurdles run but who carries 8lbs more than last Turf run and that just puts me off. WAJAAHA is also fit from Hurdling and has Flat form on soft and over further and looks the biggest danger to me to Derry Lad and it's hard to ignore MAGI GAL fit from AW racing so may be more tuned in to Flat race form OK on soft and no stamina concerns. I'll play a T/Cast PERM on the 4 of those but for singles I prefer Derry Lad from Wajaaha and if you wish Magi Gal. I certainly want a small e/w bet though on SANDYMAN
