Warwick 3.35
PLACESPOTTER - Warwick 3.35 Handicap Chase - 3 miles 5 furlongs - 16 run
A number of old favourites in here and some with some decent Course form. Several have come here as preference to Midlands National and Cheltenham Handicaps and that means for several probably a part of the season they have been aimed specifically at.
BELLE EMPRESS has the most obvious chance and an each way banker on that basis to enhanced place Odds.
Goodnight Charlie who has Course and Distance form winning this last year is of interest, a subsequent win though pushed the handicap mark up from 108 to 117 and still running off 116 and just a feeling that the horse needs to lose half a stone to be truly competitive but never rule out a CD winner here. Le Reve may be 12 now but still capable, nice handicap mark even if probably regressing now, a horse whose February to April form makes it a big danger and like Goodnight Charlie, be no surprise to see a big run. Vinnie Lewis off top weight is another who could easily figure but I will take those 3 on whilst being very wary of them.
DANCING SHADOW from the Victor Dartnell yard with James Davies up somewhat jumped off the page with a thorough look at the past form. An out and out stayer who will have needed it's 3 runs this season to be really fit and ready. Not un-noted that on 4th run last season race seasons best run off a mark of 123 and runs off 122 today. With these long distance Chasers its all about them getting in to a rhythm and contention and then having the stamina and heart to win off a winnable mark. Just ticks all the boxes for me IF this is one of those going days.
WESTERN CLIMATE could give Henry Oliver a great day if The Advisor is right in his analysis. up in trip but has run an stayed a long way once in a 4 miler in the Midlands National. Looks well worth a step up in trip here and off a very nice handicap mark too.
