Cheltenham 2.50 Coral Cup

A 26 runner Handicap Hurdle over 2 miles and 5 furlongs

26 runners equates to one key factor and that is LUCK in running. In a field of this size you really need to be getting a position as you come down the hill and turn in and being as forceful as possible without using too much gas as if you do, you'll wilt up the hill.

I have selected 2 from my shortlist of 6, arrived at after a good 2 hours of deliberation and an initial list of around 12.

Alfa Mix is a big danger from a canny yard off its Irish mark, may have been let in leniently. Champagne Well is a very solid horse, may be a bit more exposed than some but sure to run a big race. I don't have a financial investment on either of those and hope I don't regret it as BIG dangers.

I will have a 1/2 point Tracker on CANARDIER who looks well in here and suited by conditions and just left Eglante Du Seuil out of the Tracker equation another big danger.

The tips are PROTEKTORAT who has crucial Course and Distance form, targeted at the race by The Skeltons and one who I think has excellent form already but also scope off this marke to improve. I also like TOP MOON for Joseph O'Brien, although Mullins has 7 in the race I actually think this is the best value each way of the Irish Contenders and one I think could really take up and light the rocket boosters up the hill, just needs that clear passage!
