Chepstow 2.37

Chepstow 2.37 - Handicap Chase - Class 5 - 2 miles 7 1/2 furlongs - Good - 14 run

A bit of rain about but not enough to really change the Going.

A field of 14, mainly out of form or needing better Going to revive them and a typical low Grade Chase where a few will suddenly start to enjoy themselves away from deep winter mud and could return to form.

At the head of the market, Bignorm has form figures of 3-2-1 , up 8lbs, best so far on soft or heavy and at the Odds one to take on. Write It Down for Jonjo with Heskin up, a jockey who I think is distinctly average, others may disagree but would much prefer Junior to ride ony of his dads horses, this one has been beaten a combined 185 lengths in last 3 runs and the price is crazy on that basis, I'll take it on and have no complaints if it wins.

HEPBURN is solid enough, a solid stayer with no real gear change, if they go a decent gallop will beat most of these and at the Odds offers some each way value for Ali Stronge and James Bowen.

Of the rest, Arthurs Reuben comes from a yard in the midst of a short good burst of form, Touch Screen will have needed seasonal debut and has a few good runs at the trip and off this mark and a bold run at 20/1 would be no surprise and it just misses the final cut.

I can't really split HEDGINATOR who is 15lbs below last win mark, should prefer being back left handed and could revive back on this Going and DORADO DOLLAR a thorough stayer who may need further and would be hostage to fortune if they went at a dawdle to anything with a modicum of turn of foot. It's off a nice mark, low weight and a first time tongue tie might also eek out a bit.

How to stake...

HEPBURN looks solid each way and I can't split the other pair.

TRACKER - Hepburn  (if you want to have 1/4 point each way on Hedginator and Dorado Dollar - that's your prerogative and may be a nice Tricast Perm)
