Huntingdon 2.50

Huntingdon 2.50 - Handicap Hurdle Class 5 - 3 miles 1 Furlong (18 run) - soft

A big field, a fair amount of deadwood but could be very competitive and hard to rule some out who have not been in best of form of late. It's also very telling that a number of the "go to" Trainers in this type of race who have runners like Phil Kirby are right out of form at the moment and most likely that's to do with the annual flu jabs many Yards, especially mixed Jumps/Flat do at this time.

I don't understand why Ninth Wave is so short in the market and will accept I read that form totally wrong if it wins. OUT THE GLEN is the one I think they all have to beat 2 wins here and Ffos Llas off marks of 86 and 90 and scope still to improve and I will have a small win saver.

I've followed Little boy Boru to the point of a Cliff, ran better and placed last time in a dire race, again the trip, mark and Going look ideal but I can't see any reason to stay with it today, if it romps home it will be frustrating but enoughs enough for that one for me. I considered Bolton Boy, Pray for a Rainbow and Wye Aye but don't think conditions of trip today are right for them.

The one i think ticks every box at a nice price and should be competitive with enhanced places is OVERWORKEDUNDERPAID who has good 3 mile P2P form, runs prominently which can be an advantage on this tight turning track and who should be in contention for a long way.

For the tracker I am intrigued by ANOTHER FRONTIER - drops in grade and carries the weight you'd expect of a horse who was once a different level to these. They say every horse can find a mark it can win off and today will hopefully prove that right. I'm interested and positive to not that the horse at peak liked tight right handed tracks like this (Ludlow and Taunton) and was running off 120 at peak, in Class 3 a year ago and a mark of 99 is just too good to resist!

TIP - OVERWORKEDUNDERPAID / Tracker - Another Frontier (win saver Out of The Glen (small Tricast perm suggestion)

Finally at Sedgefield a notebook horse in the 3.45 Handicap Hurdle over 3 miles and 3 furlongs where Duty Girl and Samtu look very strong in a compressed market, the interesting one for future runs, on better going than this is KATY ROYAL who won over Course and Distance off 110 last January on Good to Soft Going and I will wait for it to come back here in similar conditions with great interest.
