Wincanton 4.20

Robin - Wincanton 4.20 - Handicap Hurdle - Class 5 - 2 miles 4 furlongs - Good To Soft - mostly dry.

A sharp track when the ground is drying and it can suit those who run prominently.

At the tip end of the market, River Tyne has placed the last 3 runs from 2 miles to 2 miles 7 1/2 furlongs and whilst this intermediate trip should suit the price doesn't really offer much value in a race where plenty have chances. Wetandwindy ran well last time on handicap debut and rates a bigger danger but again the price is limiting any e/w options and not great confidence in the win. Maegaudais Speed and Gino Wotimean are both horses who improved last time and who may now be ready to win, MS may need a bit further tough despite being below its last winning mark and GW would be a solid e/w punt but no great price.

Miss M is in the Tracker (see below) but I think we're all still trying to work out what the optimum trip is for this one. Wax And Wane caught my eye as it could now be very well handicapped. The Visor may assist it too and if either selection were a non-runner I'd be happy to replace it with this one as I think it could outrun Odds. At a bigger price too there could be scope with Pipes Doyen La Lutte who has shown glimpses of promise and who may be more at home on this drying ground off a declining and increasingly realistic mark. I'd suggest adding this one to your Trackers when below a mark of 100.

My pair against the field though with a couple of shrapnel bets are THOSE TIGER FEET and BOLD CONDUCT.

BOLD CONDUCT for the Tizzards is quickly back over the smaller obstacles after not taking to Chasing (yet) and the drop in trip after running well to a point when weakening over further here on its penultimate run makes perfect sense. THOSE TIGER FEET for Kim Bailey with David Bass, whose riding style from the front is ideally suited to this track, has clearly has some health issues but I really think this track and jockey will suit and it is one with bags of so far untapped potential.
